Dec 2022 Update – Braxtyn had a great showing at our 2022 National Showcase on Dec 3-4 in Austin, TX. He finished 5th Overall on Day 1 Punts, Overall Runner-Up (tied) on Day 1 Field Goals (perfect 8/8 through 55 yards), and Overall Runner-Up on Day 2 Field Goals hanging with 74 of the country’s best kickers & punters all weekend. He is a definite FCS or D2 scholarship K/P and would be a great PWO fit for a solid FBS program as well. He’s one of our most loyal & coachable students to come through the KW program in 15 years.
Braxtyn attended the 2021 National Showcase on Dec 4-5 but was dealing with an aggravated hamstring all weekend. He toughed it out without one complaint and didn’t make any excuses, but it was obvious he was off his game. He’s usually one of the top FG/KO guys in the 2023 class but just wasn’t himself. He’s kept me in the loop with his rehab and it looks like he should be back to normal soon. He’s a very loyal and respectful young man and based on his accolades this season, and his consistency at all of our camps I anticipate him getting big looks this off-season. Definitely get him out for visits – great kid all around as a person and as a coachable athlete who’s a team player.
October 2021 Update – Braxtyn has improved immensely and now is considered a Division 1 prospect. His leg strength is near the top of his class for both field goals and kickoffs and he’s connected on a 53 yard field goal In-Game this season and has hit several touchbacks deep into the end zone with excellent hang time in the 3.9+ second range as a HS junior. I expect him to start getting offers this coming summer. Great kid who is humble, extremely coachable, loyal, and works hard.
July 20, 2021 – Update Braxtyn looks awesome on field goals and kickoffs, and is punting well too. I got with him for a tune-up lesson in Florida this week (see recent YouTube video) and he was hitting field goals back to 55 yards with a perfect end over end, dead straight, with no draw or fade. He migrated down to a half inch field goal block and 1″ kickoff tee a couple of months ago and now looks very refined and ready for the start of his HS junior season. Braxtyn is humble, coachable, and a hard worker that will do what you ask of him. I’d put him up there with one of the top Class of 2023 recruits as he’s well-rounded and has great character.
2020 National Showcase Update (12/6/20)
He hit some really nice kickoffs during Day 2’s Elimination rounds finishing #5 in his Class for kickoffs with excellent hang times with two over 3.8 seconds and 2 booming kickoffs of 65 and 68 yards. He performed respectably on field goals throughout the weekend but I would like to see him add 5 more yards of range. He is learning how to punt but should definitely be considered a kicker-only recruit at this point. Braxtyn shows a lot of promise and with some extra power on his field goals and continued evolving on his already impressive kickoffs, he should emerge as a solid HS kicking recruit out of the Southeast going into his junior year.
Braxtyn has made a solid impact on me and the staff at his appearances this 2020 camp season, both in March in Orlando and then again in July in Atlanta. He was the overall (younger group) winner of both event’s field goal competitions and also won the Atlanta (younger group) kickoff competition. Braxtyn is registered for our National Showcase in Austin on Dec 5-6 and I’m looking forward to seeing how he hangs against the top HS specialists from across the country.
