The 2025 Kicking World Invite-Only National Showcase took place on December 6-7, 2025 at Georgetown ISD Stadium near Austin, TX. 65 kickers & punters from 33 states...

2025 National Showcase Winner’s Circle

The 12th installment of the Kicking World National Showcase featured lots of impressive kicking and punting; one of the more talented fields in recent years! We had really great weather on Day 1, and then halfway through Day 2, it got windy, and the feels-like temperature dropped, making Punts and Field Goals challenging for the students. Several participants were hitting D1-level kickoffs, punts, and field goals throughout the weekend, with some giant ‘best balls’ (field goals of 60-65 yards, kickoffs of 75-80 yards, and 55+ net yards punts) registered over the two-day event. There were multiple 4.0+ hang time kickoffs and punts in the 4.5+ second range.

This year, 65 participants from 33 states and one student from Finland journeyed to Austin, Texas, for the annual invite-only National Showcase! The weekend events took place at Georgetown ISD Stadium on Saturday & Sunday, December 6-7, and capped off our 18th camp season! These 65 young men were among a select group of 105 students hand-picked to earn an invitation based on their performances among the over 1,300 students we evaluated during the 2025 camp season, putting them in the top ~8% of HS kickers and punters from across the country.

Below is a summary of each day’s events (Kickoffs, Punts, Field Goals). I mention the overall winner, runner-up, and top 10 students per event, with accompanying graphics and a link to each event’s stats (camp results). I also highlight the top-performing students who finished in or near the top in multiple events. Further down, I’ll also acknowledge the new students added to the Kicking World Recruiting List who earned a spot based on their performances this weekend.

If you’re a college football coach or journalist needing more information on any recruit mentioned in this article, feel free to Contact Us.

Our annual event is a tremendous opportunity for the nation’s best high school specialists to make an impact on the camp staff and receive referrals & recommendations to college football coaches based on their performance throughout the weekend. Kicking World coaches record the distances and hang times of each participant’s kicks and punts. Through our proprietary formula, students are scored and listed in order of performance in Day 1 charting. On Day 2, we run an elimination-style competition where each student must hit a specific distance and hangtime metric, and they’re given two chances to meet it in each round or face elimination.

Leading up to the big weekend, our marketing team individually emails each participant’s local newspapers and athletics departments about their attendance at this prestigious event. A few students got extra exposure through cool news stories about their being invited, and a few more news articles have already been published since the event took place. Each year, we expect the top-performing students to receive new college football offers shortly after the event. After we push this blog post/recap article to media and college coaches, we expect increased interest among all Showcase participants. I will ramp up engagement with my college coaching contacts during this heavy recruiting season to help them fill their specific K/P needs. Stay tuned on our social media pages – @KickingWorld for updates on any new offers!

DAY 1 CHARTING COMPETITIONS

Kickoff Charting

The Day 1 Kickoff Charting competition is usually one of the more challenging events because campers are getting accustomed to more realistic game balls pumped consistently to 11.0 PSI (many times, students practice with overly worked-in balls that are slightly under-pumped, which go a bit further). The weather was excellent on Day 1. It does take some time breaking in the new footballs we use for the Showcase so many times numbers are less on Day 1 KO, but not this year – participants were hammering the ball, with excellent hang times. Day 1 KO competition conditions were noted as having an 8 MPH, swirling, knock-down wind. Brand New Wilson GST footballs inflated to 11.0 PSI. -4 Yard Distance & -0.10 Hang Time Disadvantage with brand new balls & slight headwind. Headwind increased for the last ~4 guys in each group.

HS Senior Spencer Crum (Class of 2026 – Acellus Academy, NC) was the clear Day 1 overall kickoff winner, averaging 61.20 yards / 4.04 seconds hang time on his five charted kicks. His big ball was 60 yards / 4.16 seconds. Three of his best five kickoff hang times were 4.09, 4.15, 4.16, with the lowest two still excellent at 3.98 and 3.82! Spencer proved he could be a day 1 college kickoff starter, perhaps at the D1 level. Spoiler Alert – Spencer also won Day 2 kickoffs!

We have a score that determines each student’s placement, and the top 2 scores were 129.88 and 126.42, with Alejandro Leon Jr. (Class of 2027 – Grants Pass HS, OR) finishing #2 Overall, also significantly ahead of the pack. Rounding out the top 5, with scores in of 123.67, 122.54, and 121.00 respectively, were #3 Overall Kenny Diaz (Class of 2027 – Chaparral Jr/Sr HS KS), #4 Overall Orestes Parada (Class of 2026 – Loudoun Valley HS, VA) and #5 Overall Kaden Hansen (Class of 2026 – Brighton HS, UT).

The Overall winner (Spencer) was already on the KW Recruiting List entering the weekend. Four new guys from the Top 10 were added to the List, making Day 1’s Top 10 Kickoff participants comprised of 5 KW Recruits. A few were also ‘homework guys’, who will be able to complete a follow-up video challenge (consecutive kicks/punts on film) for possible consideration for the list. The top 10 kickoff guys came from seven different states, with Texas represented by 3 students!

Top 10 Kickoffs (Day 1):

  • Spencer Crum (2026) North Carolina winner
  • Alejandro Leon Jr. (2027) Oregon
  • Kenny Diaz (2027) Kansas
  • Orestes Parada (2026) Virginia
  • Kaden Hansen (2026) Utah
  • Will Poland (2026) Nebraska
  • Diego Lopez (2026) Texas
  • Jayson Gates (2026) Ohio
  • Sebastian Flores (2026) Texas
  • Ayden Ramirez (2027) Texas

The top 2 Kickoff guys on Day 1 – Spencer Crum (OH) and Alejandro Leon Jr. (OR) contributed to 3 overall wins this weekend. Between the top 10 kickoff leaders, there were 27 kicks over 60 yards of distance and 10 kicks over 3.9 seconds of hang time; pretty impressive! It’s hard to highlight everyone in this blog post, so please refer to the Day 1 Kickoff Charting graphic below and link to each participant’s full stats.

Punt Charting

Throughout the punt warm-up period, we had a feeling there would be some big numbers put up this weekend, and the Day 1 Punt Charting competition did not disappoint. The weather was excellent on Day 1 – 65 to 69 degrees for the duration of punts. Day 1 Punt competition conditions were noted as having a 7 MPH, Slight tailwind with minimal effect, no real advantage or disadvantage. The new footballs weren’t broken in yet, but were starting to loosen up. All footballs were kept at 11.0 PSI.

HS Senior Jayson Gates (Class of 2026 – Barberton HS, OH) pushed ahead of the pack as the Day 1 overall punt winner, averaging 44.0 yards / 3.95 seconds hang time on his five charted punts. His big ball was 44 yards / 4.48 seconds. Three of his best five punt distances were 49, 46, and 44 yards, with his 2 shortest punts still going 41 and 40 yards! These distances are all considered ‘net yards’ and what we do is subtract 15 yards (as the imaginary snap / line of scrimmage) from wherever the ball lands. Meaning these balls were 64, 61, and 59 yards in the air from where the student receives the ball!

In Places #2 through #5 the scores were very close to each other. The leader (Jayson) finished with an 87.47 score and the #2, #3, #4, and # spots finished with 85.92, 85.10, 84.83, and 84.11. #2 Overall Bradley Crowell (Class of 2027 – Woodmont HS, SC), #3 Overall Kian Upton (Class of 2026 – Harrisburg HS, SD), #4 Overall Alejandro Leon Jr. (Class of 2027 – Grants Pass HS, OR), and #5 Overall Barrett Schroeder (Class of 2028 – Holdredge HS, NE).

Three new guys from the Top 10 were added to the KW Recruiting List. A few were also ‘homework guys’, who will be able to complete a follow-up video challenge (consecutive kicks/punts on film) for possible consideration for the list. The top 10 punt guys came from eight different states, with both Texas and Louisiana represented by 2 students!

We had six participants come to this year’s showcase only to punt, so for them, it’s even more challenging as they have limited time to warm up and find their groove. One of them Trey Johnson (Class of 2026 – Ouachita Parish HS, LA), finished in the #6 Overall slot on Day 1 and had the highest average hang time (4.17 seconds) on Day 1 as well. If he can get his distance up a few more yards he’ll be punting in college.

Top 10 Punters (Day 1):

  • Jayson Gates (2026) Ohio winner
  • Bradley Crowell (2027) South Carolina
  • Kian Upton (2026) South Dakota
  • Alejandro Leon Jr. (2027) Oregon
  • Barrett Schroeder (2028) Nebraska
  • Trey Johnson (2026) Louisiana
  • Eli Fung (2027) Louisiana
  • Philip Moltu (2026) Texas
  • Diego Lopez (2026) Texas
  • Dima Petrov (2028) New Hampshire

There were a lot of talented punters on both days, and I’d like to highlight several more, but instead, please reference the below Day 1 Punt Charting graphic and link to the full stats for every participant.

Field Goal Charting

Day 1’s Field Goal Charting as a group was one of the best of our 12 Showcases. To advance past 50 yards in our Day 1 Field Goal circuit, students must make all of their kicks from 30L, 30R, 35L, 35R, 40M, 45M, and 50M; thus earning bonus kicks in 5-yard increments until a winner can be determined. Meaning, one miss and you’re out. Eighteen participants were perfect on kicks through 50 yards and seven were perfect through 55 yards! Spoiler Alert – it took us all the way to 60 and 65 yards to finally determine an Overall Winner and Runner-up! Day 1 field Goal competition conditions were noted as Warm & Sunny, 68 Degrees with a 5 MPH slight tailwind. +3 Yards Wind Advantage. Balls were mostly broken in by field goal comp.

Overall Winner 65 Yards

  • Eli Fung (2027) Louisiana

Overall Runner-up 60 Yards

  • Dima Petrov (2028) New Hampshire

Perfect Through 55 Yards (listed by Class Year)

  • Ryan Locke (2026) Iowa
  • Orestes Parada (2026) Virginia
  • Bradley Crowell (2027) South Carolina
  • Alejandro Leon Jr (2027) Oregon
  • Eli Young (2027) Louisiana
  • Dima Petrov (2028) New Hampshire
  • Matthew Styer (2028) Pennsylvania

Perfect Through 50 Yards

  • Too many to list, 18 participants were perfect on their guaranteed 7 kicks!

As always, our field goal battle is one of the most impressive feats, as it’s multiple kicks over a long period, testing the focus and accuracy of each kicker. The Junior Eli Fung, who struggled on kickoffs earlier in the day, ended up winning the whole thing with a whopping 65-yard field goal to close out the field goal event of the first day. An admirable showing also by sophomore Dima Petrov, who finished runner-up overall with a long of 60 yards.

The field goal competition is our longest event each day, and it takes a lot of focus to go perfect or even have just one miss. Unlike some camps where students can get into a rhythm by rapidly firing all their kicks in a few minutes, at Kicking World, we make it as close to a game-like environment as possible by having breaks between kicks, which tests each camper’s mental toughness & focus, and leg strength/conditioning. Coaches looking for reliable kickers know that the top finishers in our field goal competitions generally excel at the next level as reliable weapons on PAT/FG.

DAY 2 ELIMINATION COMPETITIONS

Kickoff Elimination

Kicking World has built a strong reputation for producing the best kickoff legs in the country. Many chalk it up to our attention to detail and unique way of teaching the kickoff approach and follow-through. In recent years, multiple kickoff winners from our Showcase events have gone on to play at D1 schools, on scholarship, and start as true freshmen. Some of the bigger schools include Georgia, Clemson, Texas, and Arkansas, and we also had a few go on to the FCS level.

This year’s Day 2 kickoff winner, Spencer Crum (Class of 2026 – Acellus Academy, NC), who also won Day 1 Kickoffs, had two giant balls of 73/4.00 and 71/3.99 which propelled him to the lead. Of his 7 elimination kicks, 5 were over 3.9 seconds of hang, and the two ‘low’ ones were still a solid 3.8 and 3.75. Spencer has a huge leg. He was the only participant to survive the Round 6 metric (70/3.90), deeming him the overall winner. Spencer is home-schooled and only started kicking a little over 2 years ago. He is a natural. He finished in the Top 5 at our event last year, too. I believe he can start as a true freshman on kickoffs at most FBS schools. We will be working hard to help Spencer (and many other participants) get recognized this off-season and, hopefully, open some doors for them into various college football programs.

The only other 2 participants to make it into Round 6 were #2 Overall Aaron Hunt (Class of 2026 – West Jordan HS, UT) with a 67.56 yard average and #3 overall Ryan Locke (Class of 2026 – Solon HS, IA) with a 65.50 yard average. Spoiler Alert – Ryan would go on to win the Day 2 Field Goal event!

Two other notables who made it through Round 5 are #4 Overall Orestes Parada (Class of 2026 – Loudoun Valley HS, VA), with his longest kickoff of the day of 80 yards, who put on a very consistent all-around performance each day, across all three events. And #5 Overall Nathaniel Mammen (Class of 2026 – Laguna Hills HS, CA) with a 64.63 yard average. A cool note on Nathaniel’s school – I coached at LHHS one season when I lived in California, and we won the CIF, going a perfect 13-0 way back in 2008. I was a coach there during the humble beginnings of Kicking World, well before moving to Texas, where we are based now, in a suburb of Austin, where I do year-round private training.

For the juniors (Class of 2027) there were 6 participants who made it to Round 4 but were eliminated in that round. To determine a Class year winner for the juniors, we had an impromptu one-kick, best-ball, and that is how Colby Nelson (Class of 2027 – Davies HS, ND) was declared the class year winner. For the 2028/29 Class, since multiple were eliminated in Round 3, we awarded it to the highest score in those two classes, which was Urijah Jones (Class of 2029 – Hoke County HS, NC).

Day 2 Kickoff conditions were noted as Warm, Sunny, and Windy. The temperature was 61 degrees. There was a strong 14 MPH tailwind, mostly at the back. However, it had ‘knock-down’ characteristics, meaning at times the wind would pull the ball down. We listed a +4 yard distance advantage and a -0.20 second hang time disadvantage on the camp results page.

Of the top five Day 2 Kickoff Charters, Spencer was already on the List, and two new students were added to the KW Recruiting List. Two others were listed as homework guys. The top 5 kickoff guys on Day 2 are the only ones to make it to Round 5, and the top 3 were the only ones to make it to Round 6, with only the overall winner completing all six rounds. The top 10 kickoff guys on Day 2 came from TEN different states! Here’s your Top 5 for Day 2 Kickoff Eliminations.

Top 5 Kickoffs (Day 2):

  • Spencer Crum (2026 – North Carolina) winner
  • Aaron Hunt (2026 – Utah)
  • Ryan Locke (2026 – Iowa)
  • Orestes Parada (2026) Virginia
  • Nathaniel Mammen (2026) California

Punt Elimination

For Day 2 Punts, Alejandro Leon Jr. (Class of 2027 – Grants Pass HS, OR), who was also #4 Overall on Day 1 Punts, and #2 Overall on Day 1 Kickoffs, ran away with Punts on Day 2 with a convincing overall win with a total score of 94.01, almost 6 whole points higher than second place and almost 12 points higher than 10th place; incredible. Alejandros’ best ball was an absolute bomb of 51 yards / 4.63 seconds. His average punt across five elimination punts was 47.40/4.24. He hit multiple balls over 4.50 seconds throughout the weekend and showed he is one of the top punt/kickoff recruits in the country. College coaches need to jump on him early while he’s still available.

There were (6) remaining Seniors (Class of 2026) who were all eliminated in the final, 4th Round. Because of the temperature drop and difficult punting situation with the wind chill picking up (hands and legs got cold with an unexpected cold front), we did not do Overtime for those six guys. We just went off the total Score for final placement. There was, however, a Class of 2027 and a Class of 2028/2029 winner as they were the only remaining participants for their class year in the final round.

There were many solid punters across both days, but the overall winner on Day 2 – Alejandro Leon Jr., really stood out, especially on Day 2. Below is a listing of the Top 10 Punters from the Day 2 Punt Elimination competition. The overall winner was the only punter to complete Round 4. #2 through #8 made it to round 4 but did not hit the metric. The top 10 punt guys on Day 2 came from eight different states, with Texas and South Carolina each represented by two students!

Day 2 Elimination Significance

What makes Day 2 Kickoff and Punt wins so impressive is the nature of how the Elimination competitions work. On Day 1, students get a chance to kick off 5 balls mostly in a row, and later punt 5 balls mostly in a row. On Day 2, however, students get two attempts to meet a minimum distance/hang time metric, and if they do, they might not kick or punt again for 20-30 minutes later in the early rounds. Not until most of the field is eliminated will they get to string a few kickoffs or punts in a row. Participants finishing at/near the Top on Day 2 means they had the wherewithal, focus, and consistency to outlast ~65 other students over a nearly 2-hour battle! This is important to convey to college recruiting coaches & special teams coaches as our camps closely mimic an actual in-game environment where kicks and punts may be quarters apart. Another vital point to note is that at every National Showcase, we use new leather footballs, all pumped to 11.0 PSI, to help keep the competitions and statistics equitable.

Top 10 Punters (Day 2):

  • Alejandro Leon Jr. (2027) Oregon winner
  • Payson Ryder (2028) California
  • Aaron Hunt (2026) Utah
  • Jayson Gates (2026) Ohio
  • Orestes Parada (2026) Virginia
  • Philip Moltu (2026) Texas
  • Sebastian Flores (2026) Texas

Field Goal Elimination

The grand finale of our National Showcase, the double-elimination field goal competition, is always a long, grueling battle, and this year was no different. Starting at 35 yards, the participants take kicks at each hash mark and do it again at 40 yards, then move to 45 yards in the middle and continue in 5-yard increments down the middle until one man is left standing. It was a grueling battle, with the wind chill making it feel like 45° even though it was somehow 60°. After several rounds getting back to 60 and 63 yards, we had to go a little closer as everyone’s legs started to die out. From 57 yards, Ryan Locke (Class of 2026 – Solon HS, Iowa) capped off the weekend with the field goal win. Taking Runner-up Overall on Day 2 Field Goals was Eli Little (Class of 2028 – Silverton HS, OR). A great job also to the top five last standing of this event who also included Diego Lopez (Class of 2026 – Sharyland Pioneer HS, TX), Aatos Jaaskelainen (Class of 2027 – Kellokoski HS, Finland), and Kenny Diaz (Class of 2027 – Chaparral Jr/Sr HS, KS). Kenny Diaz was the only camper to make the 60 yarder on Day 2, and all of these 5 guys had a grueling last few kicks going to 60, 63, then back to 60, and finally up to 57 yards. At 57 yards both Ryan and Eli made it and the other 3 missed, so those 3 were eliminated. Then it took 2 more kicks from 57 where Ryan made it and Eli missed, thus ending the 2025 Showcase with an exciting finish.

Thirty-nine made it to the 55 yard mark and Twenty-two kickers made it to the 60 yard mark, having either no misses or only one miss! Absolutely impressive! Both days’ field goals had a very reliable lineup of placekickers who performed under pressure and stayed focused throughout the long battle.

  • Payson Ryder (punter) – California

Class of 2029

  • David Stout – Oklahoma

We added 9 new students to our exclusive Recruiting List from this year’s Showcase weekend, which should help jumpstart their recruiting efforts. We did remove a few from the list that were previously on it, but they can, like anyone, come back with a more compelling appearance next camp season to try to regain a spot on our List. One student added this weekend was previously removed, and because of his strong Showcase performance, he was added back.

In addition to the above new Kicking World Recruits, we also named 11 campers ‘Homework Guys.’ This means they, too, showed solid ability throughout the weekend but may need to improve their overall consistency, add more distance or hang time, optimize a form/technique component, or other. They’ll have a chance to submit a video challenge, along with follow-up tasks, for possible consideration for a full-fledged spot on our Recruiting List. All campers, whether having attended the Showcase or not, will have more opportunities to show us what they can do this spring when our 2026 camp season kicks off in March!

Summary

This year’s event was the 12th installment of the National Showcase (18th Kicking World camp season). It was a very talented Showcase, and I’m proud of the participants’ performances, and many times even more so the ones who started rough on Day 1 and put it behind them and came back on Day 2 very strong. There were a lot of guys who were rock-solid on both days and showed they are true college prospects, and we will absolutely be promoting them and helping to spread the word about Kicking World’s best, as we do year after year.

The top ~15% of participants showed they are either ready or could be ready with minor tweaks to play at the Division 1 FBS or FCS level. And I’d say the top ~50% of this year’s participants can play at some level of College Football, whether it be D1, D2, D3, NAIA, or Junior College.

We only invited 105 campers from the over 1,300 we trained this season. With a final tally of 65 Showcase participants (62% attend/invite ratio), I wasn’t thrilled with the lower attendance this year, as we usually track around 75 participants. A few had last-minute injuries, and some had financial hiccups that prevented them from making it to Austin. I feel this year’s attendees did a great job representing the top ~5-10% of specialists in the country. What I’m most impressed with is how, year after year, our staff accurately evaluates talent. Over the next couple of weeks & months, we expect increased recruitment for our seniors and juniors, and don’t be surprised when you see a few more college football offers presented to the top guys from this weekend.

Our 2026 camp schedule is already published, and we are heading to over 60 camps across 47 major cities in 31 states this coming season. For more details and to register for a Kicking World camp, check out our Camp Schedule page.

Learn how you, too, can earn an invite to our prestigious and exclusive National Showcase next year!

Recruiting

If you’re a college football coach, I encourage you to thoroughly read through the recap and analyze the statistics – Camp Results (events individually linked above), which shows how each camper placed and a summary of class year winners. I urge you to get our recruits on your radar and on your recruiting board, and to schedule in-person official and unofficial visits ASAP. I believe these hand-selected specialists will be successful in college and beyond. Our selection methodology has proven very accurate over the years, with multiple students excelling when it counts (in-game) at the Collegiate and NFL levels.

Parents, Students, and Coaches can check out our Recruiting page for tips & advice that will help get your name out there and allow you the opportunity to take advantage of the several exposure offerings Kicking World provides its students.

From the entire staff, we thank all who participated this year and look forward to seeing YOU at next year’s event!
