Frosh Kicker from New Jersey Wins 2nd Golden Boot

Jakob Niemann Green has become the first freshman kicker to win a Kicking World camp field goal competition outright, besting all age groups...

Freshman Kicker Jakob Niemann Green (Class of 2018) of Princeton HS in Princeton, NJ won the Kicking World New Jersey Golden Boot outright on March 28, 2015. He’s become the first freshman camper to defeat all participants (all age groups). Jakob hails from Denmark and recently moved to the States. He has tremendous natural athleticism and shows all the signs of becoming a standout kicker. Because of his impressive showing just a few short weeks ago in Orlando, FL and his follow-up performance in NJ, he earned a spot on our Hot Prospect List. Jakob is currently the only Freshman kicker on our List.

Notables
Current Hot Prospect kicker Pat Davis (Class of 2016) of Lacey Township HS in NJ was one of 3 who made it to the finals round of the field goal competition. With improved overall consistency, Pat has the potential to be a D1 level kicker. Christopher Kosmela (Class of 2016) Punter/Kicker of Hempfield HS in PA had a solid punting weekend. He shows some promise as a punter. Mateo Zapata (Class of 2016) Kicker out of Pope John XIII Regional in NJ has a big kickoff leg. With some form/technique revisions on FG & KO, he has the potential to be a very strong kicker.

Future Stars
Keep an eye on 7th grader (Class of 2020) Joey Spano of Califon, NJ and 8th grader (Class of 2019) Nick Andrade of Shelton, CT. These two guys hung with much older campers and were able to consistently put through 40-45 yard field goals and Nick was hitting 50+ yard kickoffs, with an occasional touchback. With continued growth & improvement, they should develop into fine young HS kickers.
