Class of 2016 Kicker Wins 2nd Orlando Field Goal Competion

Josh Jones wins 2nd consecutive Kicking World Orlando, FL field goal competition. Josh is a Class of 2016 Hot Prospect Kicker from Fivay HS in Florida.

Josh Jones, Class of 2016 Hot Prospect Kicker from Fivay HS in Hudson, Florida had yet another tremendous showing at Kicking World camps. Josh won his 2nd consecutive Golden Boot at the Kicking World Orlando, FL field goal competition held at Lake Mary HS on March 14-15, 2015. Last year, Josh won our 2014 Orlando event at Windermere Prep making kicks through 50 yards. This year at Lake Mary, he was perfect through 50 yards and hit a 2nd over-time kick at 55 yards to win yet again.

Josh has strung together multiple impressive Kicking World camp performances the past 2 years between last year’s Orlando event, to December’s Invite-Only Showcase Event in San Diego where he finished in the top 3 overall for field goals and kickoffs to this year’s Orlando event where he won with a convincing 55 yard field goal that had the distance from 60+!

“Josh earned the nickname the ‘Silent Assassin’ because of his stealth-like performances where he quietly goes about camp drills, instruction, warm-ups, etc. When competition time comes, he flips a switch and performs exceptionally well when pressure is at it’s highest. He has a special gift to deliver in the clutch.” -Coach Brent Grablachoff (Kicking World)

Notable Performances
Other impressive performances this weekend included Freshman Class of 2018 kicker Jakob Green (Princeton HS, NJ) who recently moved to the States from Denmark. Jakob consistently put kickoffs into the end zone and showed the leg strength to make 55 yard field goals. He is definitely one to watch.

Also, Class of 2017 Punter/Kicker Grant Goupil (Lake Mary HS, FL) showed a big leg with nice hang-times on punts and was runner-up in the field goal battle hitting perfect kicks through 50 yards. He is a very solid under-classman combo kicker/punter.

Class of 2016 kicker/punter Jacob Godek (Lake Brantley HS, FL) was putting kickoffs through the uprights. With some work on field goal trajectory and overall consistency, he will be another guy to watch.

Lastly, 2016 Punter/Kicker Larry Eimer (Clearview Regional HS, NJ) showed a lot of promise on punts, where he was consistently hitting 50+ yard, 4.5 second hang-time punts throughout the weekend. Larry also did well in the field goal competition. With some more work on overall mechanics/consistency, he could be a legitimate recruit, particularly in punting.
