Join Kicking World at Passaic County Tech for our annual NJ Youth football kicking camp focused on teaching campers ages 9-12 solid fundamentals and techniques to improve their placekicking, kickoff, and punting abilities. Our youth kicking camp is ‘fun’ with the right balance of instruction & friendly contests for cool prizes. This camp is suitable for beginner or intermediate youth kickers/punters, or even those who have kicked for a couple of years, who want to gain more accuracy & distance, establish an easy-to-follow process, and boost their confidence. Note – we also have a separate 2-Day camp (ages 13-19) taking place this weekend.
Youth campers are encouraged to have basic exposure to kicking or punting to ensure the camp experience is meaningful for all participants. A private lesson may be more appropriate for first-timers who have never kicked or punted a ball or have difficulty focusing in a group setting.
Detailed Camp Information is emailed to all campers approximately 3-5 days before the actual camp date. Be sure to look for this email which includes exact check-in location, daily schedule, and important notes.
While our camps are open to all skill levels (beginner, intermediate & advanced), we recommend camp participants have at least one year of kicking and/or punting experience under their belt, and you must have competent motor skills & coordination and be able to listen and focus in a group setting.
We use High School sized leather footballs at our 2-Day & 1-Day camps (ages 13-19), and smaller composite (rubber) footballs for our Youth camps (ages 9-12). If your skill level is more on the beginner side it is highly recommended that you add our Kicking and/or Punting DVD during the order checkout, and study (and try to practice/implement) Chapters 1-3 before attending camp.
A private lesson is more appropriate if you have never kicked, punted, or snapped before or have not excelled in at least a couple of years of soccer. (Feel free to text us videos or email a link to videos to Coach Brent’s iPhone cell # or email address which are listed on our Contact Us page. Be sure to include two kicks and/or punts, and we can advise you on the right camp. The video should be filmed from the side far enough away to have the kicker, ball flight, and field in view for the entire kick. Based on this video, we can recommend the appropriate camp for you).
Not quite 13 years old yet?
If you are a mature/stronger 12.5 year old who is experienced, we can possibly consider you for the ages 13-19 camps IF you’ve been to our Youth camp before and/or have had private lessons with us and will be in at least 7th grade at the time of the camp.
Please follow the video submission instructions above and do not sign up until we review your video for consideration. If you are only 9 to 11 years old we cannot get you into an ages 13-19 camp, no exceptions. You would need to register for a ‘Youth’ camp which is specifically for ages 9-12 (and young 13 year olds). If the camper is not age 13-19 and you register for the older camp without first communicating with us and getting approval from us, we will cancel your registration, and your payment will be forfeited.
Having you in the right camp will help ensure that everyone has a great experience!
This is best for beginners, youth football kickers & punters, and for players who want to learn the fundamentals and beginner/intermediate techniques. The majority of students will be 9-12 years old. Age exceptions can be made if you are a younger 13 yr old depending upon your skill level, maturity, physical build, etc. The minimum requirement is that you have the strength to at least kick the ball 15 yards in the air (which is like making a field goal from the 5-yard line). The ‘typical’ student in our youth camps ranges from being able to kick a 15 to 30 yard field goal, and some can even make it from 35+ yards. If you are, however, making 40+ yard field goals already, you may be better suited for a 2-Day or 1-Day camp. However, note that in the older camps, we use high school-sized leather footballs, which are more challenging and heavier on the legs for younger students. Our youth camp is focused on teaching you proper kicking mechanics in a safe, fun, and instructional environment, complete with contests and prizes!
If you are only 9 to 11 years old, we cannot get you into an ages 13-19 camp (1-Day / 2-Day types), no exceptions. Some older 12-year-olds we can sometimes get in if they’re mature and more advanced, and have attended our camps before.
*If you’re unsure of what camp to sign up for, feel free to text us videos or email a link to videos to Coach Brent’s iPhone cell # or email address, which are listed on our Contact Us page. Be sure to include two kicks and/or punts, and we can advise you on the right camp.
A 50% refund is generally provided if we receive notice of cancellation at least 30 days before the camp date. You may also elect a one-time courtesy transfer of any monies paid toward a future camp in that same camp season without losing any money. If you miss the 30-day cancellation window but contact us at least 5 days before camp, we will typically allow you a one-time courtesy transfer of any monies paid toward a future camp in that same camp season. In all other cases (including last-minute cancellations, no shows, etc.), there are no refunds for any reason, and any monies paid are forfeited.
