Derek Morris just earned his spot on the Kicking World Hot Prospect List after an outstanding weekend showing at our 2022 National Showcase and is one of the best prospects in the country. Going into the event we already knew he had a big leg, but he impressed us even further with his poise under pressure and general consistency. He tied as the Day 1 FG – Overall Winner going 9/9 (100%) through 60 yards. He was the overall winner of Day 2 kickoffs and finished #2 overall on Day 1 kickoffs. He also finished #4 Overall (#1 in the junior class) on Day 1 punts. He has a cannon of a leg and hit multiple kickoffs over 75 yards with 4.2 and 4.3 seconds. He excels under pressure and was one of the last men standing on both days’ field goal events. Derek showed he has what it takes to be a legitimate big-time FBS level recruit. I expect early scholarship offers for him.
