Michael Sims (K)

If you are looking for a kicking coach, Coach Brent is the guy. He loves coaching kickers and that comes across in every interaction I have ever had with him. He is absolutely driven to help his students succeed. My son, Michael Sims, was a soccer player forever and a goal keeper for 6 years. Michael attended a Kicking World kicking camp in San Diego and I was immediately impressed with how Coach Brent broke down the technical aspects of kicking a football, communicated that information and made sure his students understood. Plus, all of the boys at that camp were having fun while learning. Corrections were made in a positive and constructive manner that was well received by the students. Michael eventually made the football team and he was able to hit the end zone on kickoffs but was inconsistent. We called Coach Brent and within a couple of lessons Michael was consistently into the end zone on kickoffs and by the end of his junior year was the starter for kickoffs and field goals and PATs. Michael continued to work with Coach Brent during the offseason adding height and distance to his kickoffs and field goals. As a senior Michael was 34 for 34 on PATs, 5 for 7 on field goals including a 48 yard game winner, and had a 65.2 average kickoff yardage. Dozens of colleges from all over the country have contacted Michael and he is now in the process of deciding where to spend the next four years. The fact that he will play football in college is amazing to me since Michael had never even played football prior to the 4th game of his junior year season. I can’t say enough about Coach Brent’s part in Michael’s development and success and the opportunities he now has. It simply would not have happened without Coach Brent.
