Kicker Matt McCrane Signs with Arizona Cardinals

Matt McCrane signed with the Arizona Cardinals minutes after the 2018 NFL Draft. He set numerous school records starting all 4 years at Kansas State and amassed multiple kicking records over his career in Manhattan, KS. Matt is expected to compete with the Arizona Cardinals veteran kicker, Phil Dawson.

On April 28, 2018, minutes after the 2018 NFL Draft, former K-State kicker Matt McCrane signed with the Arizona Cardinals in free agency. Matt attended his first Kicking World camp in 2011 in Dallas, TX (the home of the 2018 NFL Draft). He trained with Coach Brent Grablachoff in college, and also served as a student coach for Kicking World, giving back by mentoring aspiring youth kickers.

Matt finished his collegiate football career breaking multiple school records, including career made field goals. In his redshirt freshman season, Matt led the nation in Field Goal percentage – 94.7% (19/20), good enough to put him on the USA Today Freshman All-America Team. He was also named to the Kicking World All-America Team both in High School and College.

Read the interview Coach Brent conducted with Matt shortly after he accepted a full-ride scholarship offer to Kansas State. With a proven veteran on the Cardinals’ roster in Phil Dawson, Matt is expected to compete with him for the job.

We at Kicking World wish Matt McCrane loads of success in the National Football League and in training camp as a kicker for the Arizona Cardinals!
