20 Jul 10 Orange County Kicking Competition at Irvine High School
On Sunday, July 18th we had a special mini kicking competition at Irvine High School for some of the Kicking World students. It was a hot day out on the field turf but we all had fun. I’ve been coaching some awesome kickers this year who work hard each week and I wanted to do something different besides the regular kicking instruction we normally do. To spice things up we had a field goal competition with 4 of my students- Zachary Christensen of Mission Viejo High School, Christian Rodriguez of Fountain Valley High School, Nicholas Mares of Servite High School and Bailey Lipschultz of Alta Loma High School. Bret Miller of San Clemente High School was unable to attend. We had a double-elimination field goal competition and the winner got a Kicking World Under Armour heat-gear training shirt. It was a close kicking competition with a lot of laughs and good times. Ultimately Zach Christensen was able to pull ahead as the winner with a beautiful 53 yard field goal. All 4 guys exhibited great poise, confidence and excellent ability under the kicking competition pressure. I’m really looking forward to this 2010 football season and seeing how our Kicking World students do. I’m expecting big things from everyone! 13 Nov 09 Freshman Kicker Pulled Up to Varsity For Playoffs!
I got an e-mail today from one of my students’ Dad. I was pleased to find out that my student Christopher Gulla, freshman kicker at Toms River North High School in Toms River, NJ was pulled up to Varsity for the first playoff game this Saturday, November 14, 2009. His parents are extremely proud of him as I am. Christopher attended my 2009 New Jersey Kicking Camp in Toms River, NJ and he held his own for over 12 rounds of a ‘final elimination’ competition versus a 17 year old senior kicker!
I wish Chris much success in his first Varsity football game tomorrow and I wish the Toms River North Football team a great playoff run. Please read below for comments from Mr. Gulla, Christopher’s father:
“Chris has had a great season. He handled punts, kickoffs and PAT’s for both the freshmen and JV teams. As we enter the State playoffs Chris has been pulled up to Varsity and yesterday won the starting kicker job.
With your help and his dedication to practice, he is now kicking consistently down to the 5 yard line and regularly into the end zone. In practice he has also kicked several 50 + yard field goals. His first varsity kick off will be tomorrow night in our first round state playoff game.” (Dennis Gulla)

01 Feb 09 Kicking World Student Commits to Colorado University!
Zach Grossnickle, a Senior Kicker out of Denver East HS (Colorado) has officially commited to Colorado Football! Zach attended my June small group kicking camp this summer and also worked with me for a couple 1 on 1 lessons as he flew out from the Rocky Mountain State to Sunny California for a weekend of brushing up on his ‘kicking skills.’ While at my camp Zach won the competition for the longest kickoff. At Kicking World.com we feel that if you want to be the best, you need to put in the effort year round, not just 3 months out of the year. This means you need to keep your body in optimal condition by weight-training, running, swimming, etc. The time you put in off the field is crucial to your success come game time. With this being said, the most vital component to your success as a kicker is receiving personalized kicking instruction weekly.
In your first personalized kicking session with Kicking World, we break down your technique from steps, to approach, to contact, and follow through. Every aspect of your kicks is analyzed and critiqued. After a thorough observation of your kicking performance, we will go over with you what good and what bad techniques you posses. From here, we are able to work on your personalized kicking plan, and set target goals as to where you should be able to get to in the coming weeks. Our goal is to help you become a smarter, stronger, more consistent kicker.
Your kicks will be charted noting the distance and location of each miss or successful attempt. This information should be saved to note improvement over the coming weeks. We recommend scheduling a one-on-one session once a week. Receiving personalized instruction once a week during the season is the optimal amount of time to help maintain your consistency while allowing your skills and power to continually improve. Most of the Kicking Camps will be held in Orange County, Los Angeles, or San Diego, California.
